Hybrid Staff Accountant - White River Marine Group at Bass Pro Shops

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant will assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements provided to management. This position will also support multiple manufacturing plants and corporate managers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Creates monthly journal entries and adjusting entries for multiple locations.
• Compiles and distributes month end statements and reports.
• Reconciles balance sheet and selected expense account reconciliations for assigned locations.
• Reconciles and capitalizes fixed assets.
• Works with manufacturing plants and other departments on projects.
• Reconciles and posts daily sales/cost of sales and inventory transactions.
• Works with auditors as needed.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
• Experience: 3 - 5 years of working experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Good understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word and Access).
• Prior experience with AS400 software preferred.
• Working knowledge of Power BI, Snowflake and TM1 is a plus.
• Highly organized & detail oriented.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to balance competing priorities with deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to change and shifting priorities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Occasional walking, standing, and lifting

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

• Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
