Hybrid EEG Tech at Nashville General Hospital

EEG Tech/Neuro Diagnostics/Full-Time:


Education: High School Diploma (Equivalent or Higher - Required

Licensure/Certification: BLS Certification  and EEG Certification - Required

Experience/Knowledge:  2+ years experience.

• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development necessary for assessment, range of treatment and care of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures, patient care procedures and the ability to operate technical equipment as acquired through orientation.

Job Duites:

• Correctly operate Electroencephalograph and adjust settings as required
• Correctly operates Evoked Potential equipment and adjust settings as required
• Correctly operates Electrocardiograph and monitors, adjust settings as required
• Maintains equipment in good operating condition, coordinates for repairs (repair/replace lead wires/cables, etc.
• Correctly records observation and pertinent information obtained during testing 

Checks support equipment (crash cart, etc.) 

On rare occasions, performs after hour emergencies  

Receives patient assignments and follows schedule accordingly 

Responds to requests from Hospital, Emergency Room and Clinics   

   

Review patient's record and instruct patients prior to procedures and obtains pertinent information from patient's medical record 

Prepares patient and equipment for tests, properly attaching electrodes, etc. 

Obtains diagnostic study/ adequate information for physician interpretation. Edit and forward results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation. Performs procedure follow up to include exam charging and result dissemination to completion 

Explains test to patient or significant other.
