Job Description:The Facility Maintainence Technician will be responsible to assist in general upkeep of the building as well as repair and preventative meintainence of the equipment on site. The role may also require assistance in building construction and modifications made to laboratory. The technician can be expected to assist in the preperation, overhaul and testing of certain flammability tests on site.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain and troubleshoot testing equipment with regular preventative maintainence and repairs as needed.
- Maintains building maintaince issues with any utilities, or structure. Oversees external service providers that may be required for additional repairs or enhancements.
- Assist in set up, overhaul, and testing of various flammibility tests under the direction of the lab manager
- Conducts regular walk throughs of the building to assure equipment and related fixtures are performing safely, effectively and efficiently.
- Provides feedback on status of building and machines in regards to safety
- Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using a pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 6+ years of experience with mechanical engineering or hands on experience with machinery and testing equipment (Required)
- Experience with analytical instrumentation, testing equipment, or exhaust blowers.
- Light construction experience with framing, sheetrock & electrical wiring
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid driving license
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Ability to approach problems in a scientific manner and implement resolutions with minimal guidance
- Applied knowledge to interact with suppliers to get specific quotes for analytical equipment
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of facilities equipment, and systems
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing services such as needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of satisfaction
- Able to use motorized equipment to move vehicles and materials
- Able to read and interpret data to participate in data quality review and troubleshooting activities
ADDITIONAL KSAS
- Skilled use with MS Windows based computers including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and custom software
