Our company specializes in manufacturing re-usable plastic packaging and is a leader in the thermoforming industry. Designers are responsible for using software to build custom designs that meet customer requirements and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Attends regular development meetings
- Addresses limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process
- Incorporate feedback into 3D model designs
- Makes design revisions as requested
- Assesses CAD designs for the ability to form correctly and not fail under load
- Work with members of the tooling, production, sales, and other departments as necessary
- Maintain proper documentation during the design process
- Understanding thermoforming characteristics such as shrink
- Communicating with appropriate departments when issues arise
- Ensures quality standards are upheld according to the Quality Management System
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as required
Qualifications:
- 2+ year degree in related field
- Bachelors degree preferred
- 2+ years experience utilizing CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
- Knowledge of production tools and equipment (Thermoforming process and equipment preferred)
- Ability to problem solve in a time-sensitive environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to think in a three-dimensional manner
- Strong Organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office tools
- Comfortable with sitting for long periods of time
