Job Title: Store Manager – Fir Tree Snack Bar

Position Summary:
The Fir Tree Snack Bar at Woodberry Forest School is a vibrant hub for students, faculty, and guests to relax, refuel, and connect. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to lead daily operations with a focus on customer service, team leadership, and innovation. The ideal candidate will bring a strong sense of ownership to the role, with the ability to manage inventory, drive sales, and foster a positive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all day-to-day operations of the Fir Tree Snack Bar, including opening and closing procedures
Lead, train, hire, and schedule a team of full-time, part-time staff and student workers, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Maintain accurate inventory levels; order, receive, and stock food, beverage, and retail items
Ensure cleanliness, food safety, and compliance with health regulations at all times
Cultivate a welcoming and student-friendly atmosphere that aligns with the school’s values
Innovate menu offerings and retail selections in collaboration with school leadership and customer feedback
Manage and track the store’s budget, including revenue, expenses, payroll, and vendor relationships
Coordinate staffing and logistics for special events, seasonal promotions, and school functions
Identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, customer experience, and product offerings
Serve as a visible, approachable leader and role model for the school community
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in food service, retail, or hospitality management
Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience with budgeting, inventory systems, and vendor management
Open-minded and proactive, with a growth-oriented approach to challenges and change
ServSafe certification or equivalent required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
A friendly, community-focused mindset with a passion for service
Schedule:
This is a full-time position with evening and weekend shifts depending on the academic calendar and event schedule.
