Position Summary

We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Epic Training & Support Specialist (EHR) to join our ambitious IT team and help us drive top talent to our organization. Under the direction of the Director of IT, the Epic Training Specialist will work closely with the Advance Community Health clinical leadership and IT Support teams and will participate in maintaining and enhancing our instance our Epic EHR.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Epic Training and Support Specialist (EHR) will establish collaborative partnerships with team members across various departments within Advance Community Health as well as external partners, as needed, to support our user and patient communities. The role will be primarily responsible for delivering Epic support, Epic Training, and project management for Epic related enhancements.

Duties and Tasks:

  • Understanding of workflows, training diagrams, and curriculum as it pertains to Epic with previous OCHIN or FQHC experience.
  • Onboarding and Ongoing support to clinical roles and nonclinical roles - providers, nurses, medical assistants, front desk staff, and call center employees.
  • Responsible for developing the training curriculum and training plans that ensure that staff receive the initial and ongoing training needed to use Epic effectively, which means updating and refining the training curriculum as needed.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of Epic and health center operations.
  • Will supply backup support to the IT Specialist in end-user support as needed.
  • Provides daily support to Epic applications and users through troubleshooting, coaching, and consulting. Refer issues that require additional assistance to internal technical support or service providers’ help desk. Communicates with requestors throughout the support process to keep informed of status, through resolution.
  • Supports the successful implementation of Epic applications across the organization.
  • Participates as a key member of the organization’s Epic support team(s) to understand key workflows, configuration/design decisions, policy considerations, and to assist with project coordination.
  • Participates in maintaining and enhancing the build specific to the organization. May include, but not be limited to, creating new Epic users, provider records, preference lists, fee schedules, letter templates, workstation, and printers.
  • Focuses on standardizing workflows across the organization.
  • Collaborates with service provider and Advance Community Health team members to test new features and upgrades prior to implementation.
  • Attend appropriate clinic department meetings as Epic expert.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience or 2-3+ years.
  • Epic EHR training and support experience.
  • EPIC Certification in Ambulatory.
  • EPIC Certifications or experience in Cadence, Prelude, Wisdom, and MyChart.
  • Proficient in MS Office software programs, i.e., Excel, Word, Power Point.
  • Experience analyzing company needs, lesson planning, development and implementation.
  • Instructional experience in a group business setting.
  • Prior Experience with EPIC OCHIN.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Epic Certification (EAC or ECP preferred, but all Epic certifications considered)
  • Experience working in community health/FQHC or outpatient clinic that used OCHIN EPIC
