Summary
Plans and coordinates all aspects of shipping, receiving, and inventory control for a small corporate environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepares and arranges items for shipment both domestically and internationally. Responsibilities include packing, addressing and shipping merchandise or material for non-machine shipments via preferred carriers, e.g. UPS, Fed Ex.
Maintain accuracy of inventory, shipping/receiving, and related records in ERP system. This will include updating and distributing monthly activity and key performance metrics reports.
Prioritizes shipments based on ERP due dates and works in collaboration with Operations team to communicate shipment status.
Monitors usage of consumables, hardware and other non-stock items to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
Maintains inventory accuracy within company targets by developing and implementing various procedures and control mechanisms, such as cycle counting (using ERP system) and inventory sign-out procedures.
Assist in the preparation and crating of accessories for large machines
Responsible for warehousing and shipping worldwide, which includes ensuring products are shipped per DOT/IATA/IMDG regulatory requirements.
Reviews data periodically to identify inactive items and recommends use-up, rework or disposal of excess/obsolete stock.
Responsible for receiving, which includes unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material, entering receiving information into the ERP system, and putting material away in proper locations. This includes the operation of a forklift or other material handling equipment when necessary.
Negotiates with foreign customers to develop shipping and handling agreements. This includes working with international QED representatives to facilitate meeting the logistic needs of all international customers.
Ensures compliance with all US & International customs regulations. Acts as liaison with customs representatives to resolve problems. Reports shipping activity to U.S. customs through the AES system.
Responsible for coordinating and shipping to trade shows both domestically and internationally. Acts as liaison between trade show broker, transportation broker and QED employees attending the trade show.
Manage relationships with logistics partners to provide the most effective and valuable logistics solutions to the company and our customers. Source additional carriers for cost & capacity optimization as needed.
Audit all invoices pertaining to logistics on a timely basis. This includes freight, customs, rigging and storage invoices.
Develops, documents, reviews and implements all written procedures that are relative to this position.
Light assembly required periodically.

Education and/or Experience
Associates Degree (AAS.) in Business or equivalent from two-year College preferred; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of International Shipping experience working in a Freight forwarding, Import or Export environment.
Minimum two to three years experience in the areas of inventory management and international logistics is required.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ERP/MRP software and Microsoft Office software.
Other Skills and Abilities
Thorough understanding of ERP/MRP software systems, logistics and inventory control required. The ability to operate a fork lift and other material handling equipment is required.
Travel
Some travel, less than 5%, is currently required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.
