This position is responsible for leading and operating a successful Kessler Diamond Center location. A successful store is defined as one that meets its sales and profitability targets, interacts and collaborates efficiently and effectively with the other Kessler locations, and maintains the cultural values that have made Kesslers an exceptional workplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead and motivate a team of client facing employees.
- Ensure the success of each team member by setting expectations, coaching continuously, and leading by example.
- Maintain employee schedules and monitor staffing needs to effectively serve our clients.
- Oversee hiring, training, and onboarding of new employees.
- Bring Covey philosophies to the team on a continuous basis thus maintaining our culture.
- Provide backup coverage for store positions, as needed.
- Handle client inquiries and complaints.
- Achieve sales goals that are set collaboratively each year.
- Continuously evaluate processes and procedures and provide ideas and solutions for improvement.
- Help clients, on behalf of fellow salespeople, by using appropriate selling tools.
- Build and maintain client, employee and vendor relationships.
- Periodically shop the competition.
- Represent the company in a positive, healthy, and professional manner.
- Champion Kesslers’ Employee Ownership Plan within store and externally in the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma required. Associate degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience preferred.
- Experience working in retail preferred, but not required.
- Experience with inventory, sales, training, and conflict resolution.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization including remote locations
- Strong problem-solving and creative skills; the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and dependability.
- Strong computer skills. Experienced in Microsoft Office including Excel.
- Some travel required.
