Are you passionate about helping individuals and families move from homelessness to housing stability? The Council for the Homeless (CFTH) is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Program Coordinator to welcome visitors, answer housing inquiries, and connect people to vital resources through our Housing Solutions Center (HSC)-our community’s one-stop access point for over 40 housing assistance programs.


Your skills and experience will support our mission as you:

  • Greet and assist visitors and callers with professionalism and empathy.
  • Conduct housing assessments in-person and over the phone. 
  • Answer and support the Housing Hotline.
  • Coordinate lobby operations, appointments, and office needs.
  • Provide de-escalation and crisis intervention when needed.
  • Support program staff, interns, and volunteers with training and resources.

Pay and Benefits

  • A new employee in this position will be paid $26.24 per hour. In compliance with the Equal Pay & Opportunities Act, the full salary range for this position is $26.24 - $31.49 per hour.
  • Full-time, non-exempt, in-office/person position working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. May be required to work a few hours on weekends and holidays when needed.

  • Benefits package also includes 9.03% paid into WA PERS by employer, 12 company paid holidays, and generous paid time off and separate sick time accrual.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years' experience in an office assistant role, including multiple focus points and frequent interruptions.
  • At least 4 years' experience working directly with people who are low-income and/or homeless.
  • Experience working with and/or supervising volunteers or interns.  
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including those who are symptomatic in their mental health and/or substance use.
  • Experience with data entry, file management, Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment.
  • Strong cultural awareness and humility.
  • Experience with de-escalation and crisis intervention on the phone or in-person.
  • Ability to remain empathetic, kind, and nonjudgmental regardless of the situation.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and have fewer than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years. 

Preferred Experience

  • Self-identified lived experience with homelessness.
  • Trainings/Certifications applicable to the position.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or related field.
  • Bi or Multi-lingual and/or Cultural.
  • Identify as a member of a population(s) disproportionately affected by homelessness.
  • Knowledge of Clark County resources and agencies is available to those experiencing homelessness.
