DESCRIPTION
Madison District Public Schools is seeking a full-time Social Studies Teacher at the middle school level for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for social studies, foster critical thinking skills, and inspire curiosity about the world. They will be committed to building strong relationships with students, differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and using a variety of instructional strategies and technology to enhance student engagement and achievement.
 
QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate in Social Studies, RX or CX Endorsement
• Demonstrated knowledge of Michigan Academic Standards for Social Studies
• Knowledge of effective instruction and best practices
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff
• Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills
• Competency in student management and supervision

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet curriculum guidelines and educational standards.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and other evaluation methods.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning and development.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
