Course number and title: CTL5718H - Special Topics in Teaching - School-Based Collaborative Teacher Inquiry - Course description: Collaborative teacher inquiry is a learning process where educators work together to explore and improve their educational practices through shared reflection and investigation. As a teacher candidate in a school-based cohort, engaging in this process means partnering with peers and members of the school community to ask meaningful questions about student learning, explore programs and strategies, and analyze evidence from a range of sources (including school/board data, research and engagement with school initiatives and/classroom practice). The collaborative inquiry approach seeks to extend your understanding of pedagogy and school-based initiatives; leverage multiple perspectives, experiences and skills; and develop an inquiry framework to guide future reflective practice.

Salary: As of September 1, 2025, the minimum stipend is $9,820.70 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course. As of January 1, 2026, the minimum stipend is $9,820.70 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course. Salary may be prorated based on the appointment percentage.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates: - Must have demonstrated current knowledge grounded in existing professional networks with both Carnegie P.S. and YRDSB educational priorities - Demonstrate skills related to building community and program development involving a range of stakeholders (including school educators, OISE participants and administration, and community partners) - Must possess a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent professional experience - Must demonstrate currency and mastery in the course subject matter - Must demonstrate excellence in teaching, including online teaching as relevant - Must demonstrate evidence of knowledge and practice of principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion - Must demonstrate excellence in teaching and leading teachers/teacher-candidates professional learning - Must have K-12 Ontario classroom experience - Must possess an Ontario Teaching certificate with OCT qualifications in the relevant division - Must have strong listening and communication skills - Must have a commitment to student support - Must be collaborative and works well as a member of a team.
