Job Description

 

Job Summary

 

Reporting to a Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist, Operations – Retail (HRG-O) plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Retail HR Team. This position provides expert guidance and operational support to retail employees and internal HR partners on a wide range of HR topics, including leave of absence administration and accommodations, escalated background screenings, and unemployment claims. The HRG-O ensures that HR practices are compliant with legal requirements, aligned with organizational goals, and delivered with a high standard of service to both employees and internal stakeholders.

 

In addition to these core responsibilities, the HRG-O contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Retail HR function. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with data and analytics, and excels at problem-solving. The ability to quickly and positively adapt to changing business needs is essential. The HRG-O supports overflow processes, manages data and reporting, assists with presentation development, and contributes to ad hoc projects that drive business outcomes. The role may also support employee investigations as needed, ensuring fair, thorough, and timely resolution of workplace concerns.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Time Spent

Provide HR Operations & Employee Support: Provide day-to-day HR operational support, respond to general inquiries, manage unemployment claims, and support leave of absence and accommodation processes (FMLA, ADA, personal, religious). Assist, as needed, with employee questions/concerns/investigations and ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws.

Manage HR Data, Reporting & Communication: Pull, analyze, and maintain HR data and dashboards. Support the creation of presentations, reports, and communication materials for HR leadership and field partners.

Project & Program Support: Assist with cyclical HR programs, training coordination, and cross-functional initiatives. Participate in, lead and/or support overflow tasks and contribute to ad hoc projects, process improvements, and initiatives as needed.

Collaboration & Coordination: Partner with HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, Legal, and other stakeholders. Monitor team deliverables and ensure smooth execution of HR processes.

Qualifications

 

Experience

Years

Experience in HR, or related field (including retail leadership)

The annual base salary range for this position is $91,885.00 - $102,695.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.  Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.  Sephora offers a generous benefits package to full-time employees, which includes comprehensive health, dental and vision plans; a superior 401(k) plan, various paid time off programs; employee discount/perks; life insurance; disability insurance; flexible spending accounts; and an employee referral bonus program.
