Bilingualism and bi-literacy in English and Spanish.
Teacher and/or administration certificate
Experience as a teacher or administrator in a dual language program.
Experience in aligning curricula and assessments with standards, and familiarity with developing units and lessons with the end goal in mind.
Knowledge of dual language structures and guiding principles, Spanish language arts standards, and pedagogical practices in dual language programs.
Knowledge of current research and promising new practices in dual language education, existing and emerging local, state and national resources.
Dual Language/ Multilingual Facilitator (English/Spanish) is responsible for aligning and coordinating dual language programs in EPS, proving leadership and expertise on dual language education curriculum, assessment and instructional practices, ensuring staff quality through recruitment and professional learning, and engaging in family and community outreach and education. The Dual Language Facilitator reports to the Director of Categorical Programs, and supports dual language teachers and administrators. They will have a high level of knowledge about research-based instructional strategies, second language acquisition, Spanish language arts standards, curriculum and assessment, as well as with instructional best practices, modeling, coaching, and professional development in the area of dual language education. The Dual Language facilitator will have excellent oral, written and communication skills, have a high level of data literacy, be capable of managing multiple tasks, work collaboratively with diverse groups of people, and support community outreach efforts. They will be bilingual and bi-literate in English and Spanish.
