Job Summary

Leads and executes effective fiscal grants management strategies and practices. Provides leadership and direction for fiscal grant management, return on investment analyses, and fiscal grant reporting. May supervise professional staff.

What you will do
  • Develop, oversee, and monitor fiscal aspects of the district’s and/or department's assigned grants.
  • Develop budgets for new funding opportunities. Ensure collaborative development and timely submission of grant applications as well as required financial reports, for established formula grants as well as competitive grants; manage the fiscal aspects of closing grants.
  • Keep abreast of federal, state and local laws, policies and regulations for grant administration. Ensure schools and district remain compliant with state and federal guidelines and laws regarding use of federal funds and administration of grants.
  • Model complex fiscal scenarios and make recommendations to management. Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and develop presentations and recommendations for leadership. Design and implement systems and process solutions to streamline work and increase efficiencies
  • Serve as liaison with Grantor officials regarding fiscal compliance; document fiscal compliance for audits/monitoring; collect, compile and review documentation required for monitoring. Represent district during audits/monitoring events.
  • Perform Return on Investment (ROI) analyses to help the district evaluate the effectiveness of its grant-funded investments, including creating reports and tracking tools
  • Maintain working knowledge of state and federal online funding application/grant management portals (i.e., ePlan, NSF, Grants.gov, Grant Solutions, G5 etc.) and processes, and complete required transactions as needed for related funding applications, awards, reimbursement requests. Format school, department and new grant budgets into J. D. Edwards (JDE) up-loadable format; correct and maintain state account category codes in JDE; scrutinize general ledger for errors and initiate journal entries; review and release, as appropriate, budget holds for assigned grants; facilitate Employee Time and Effort compliance by providing technical assistance to employees with their Personnel Activity Reports (PAR).
  • Provide daily management of grant fiscal team
  • Enter and track requisitions and purchase orders against grant-funded contracts as needed.
Education Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a related field Preferred
Experience Qualifications
  • 5-7 years’ experience in education grants/policy, including a minimum of 5 years’ experience in education grants management, accounting, budget, and/or finance and prior experience with public school systems and federal grants, including experience with budget development and oversight responsibilities Required
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, JDE accounting system

Starting At: $94,894.63

Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
