Salary Range: $40,000 - $43,000/annually
Position Description:
A Bilingual Food Market Assistant supports the daily operations of the Keystone food market and Basic Needs Program. This position will work out of our new Keystone Food Center located in the Midway area of Saint Paul.
The anticipated hours for this position will be from 9am – 5:30pm and also requires a monthly rotating Wednesday work shift from 10am – 6:30pm as scheduled.
Essential Functions:
40% Participant Service
- Greet participants and guide them through shopping process
- Assist with food market line management
- Complete participant intake interviews
- Assist participants with limited English throughout intake and shopping process
- Manage flow of participants to ensure safe and efficient service
- Provide respectful customer service
35% Data tracking
- Enter participant and service information into database
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry
10% Food market operations
- Assist with receiving deliveries, unpack and stock food market inventory
- Greet donors and receive donations
10% General Basic Needs program support
- Assist with daily operations of Basic Needs program
- Assist with volunteer task assignment including training and supervision
- Assist with special projects
5% Perform other duties or projects as assigned
Qualification Requirements
- Fluent in one of the following languages: Karen, Spanish, Hmong, Pashto, or Russian.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Organizational skills, attention to detail
- Computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Qualification Preferences
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior database experience
- Knowledge of community resources
- Reliable transportation and MN driver’s license
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder height and to bend and twist while lifting
- Frequent sitting, frequent standing
- Computer work, telephone calls
- Lifting, carrying reaching, pushing, pulling
- Occasional work outdoors in inclement weather

- Written and oral communication skills, communicating with the public
