Position Summary
This position oversees the grow-out process. This is a strong support role for growers and field servicing. This position is a critical team member of management, and supplies reporting and communication that is essential for a successful performance plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees all field service technician functions to optimize flock health and performance. Provide all essential training and advisory support to service techs for success in their positions. Coordinate career enrichment training programs. Perform annual performance appraisal evaluations of the service group to set and ensure that goals are being met.
- Coordinate weekly with consulting veterinarian and nutritionist to support company objectives.
- Communicates daily with staff, management, and growers.
- Approves all drug, cleaning and disinfection suppliers.
- Oversees inventory control of warehouse.
- Assists in setting and adhering to required budget, meeting all financial targets. Identifies and implements cost savings.
- Generates, maintains, and distributes various reports as needed, such as mortalities, placements, costings, and field performance.
- Ensures that sales needs are being met.
- Attend management meetings as needed, updating and addressing any issues.
- Assists growers with equipment upgrades and housing profits, serves as strong contact for growers with any issues.
- Creates, implements, and directs critical Grow Out programs including Grower Performance Improvement plan.
- Insures animal welfare policies are met along with documented annual training for all growers and live personnel.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Must be willing to attend seminars, conferences, web casts, etc. for career development and job enrichment.
- Must maintain an excellent attendance record
Education, Training, and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or university)
- Valid driver’s license
Experience
- Four to ten years related experience
- Needs strong background in poultry education, with extensive knowledge of poultry house ventilation, essential poultry diseases, and Biosecurity and Animal Welfare procedures.
Skills and Abilities:
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office Applications, especially strong in Excel spreadsheets.
