Position Summary
The Production Manager will oversee and optimize all aspects of commercial printing services and operations for Strategic Imaging. This role involves operation of printing equipment, project management for accurate order completion, efficient execution, and continuous improvement to ensure seamless printing services and operations. In this role, you will lead a team, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and be held accountable for key performance indicators, print production, safety and compliance protocols, and optimizing efficiency and productivity.

Work Hours Classification: Full-time 40 hours a week; additional hours may be required on occasion due to the requirements of the job.

Position Responsibilities
- Oversee Strategic Imaging’s day-to-day printing production and warehouse management, ensuring efficiency, productivity and successful completion of print projects.
- Review and approve print production priorities, schedules, print specifications, bids, negotiations, and budgets.
- Manage printing jobs and projects to ensure orders are accurately delivered in a timely manner while maintaining and improving the customer experience.
- Lead a team and provide guidance, training, feedback, annual reviews, and performance evaluations to maintain a motivated and efficient workforce. Lead production meetings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine best production procedures, establish appropriate print schedule times, and communicate any job-related information or updates to complete jobs and ensure customers remain notified on order status and have a great customer experience.
- Monitor, analyze, document and report on key performance indicators – identifying areas for improvement and communicating findings to leadership team in addition to providing financial reports to VP, Accounting, and necessary parties regularly.
- Generate regular reports for senior management highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement on behalf of the team.
- Oversee maintenance of print production machinery and equipment, ensuring maintenance is being completed routinely and meets operational standards
- Optimize facility and warehouse space utilization while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment by ensuring all work areas are kept tidy and free of hazards, regularly cleaning and organizing, and managing inventory.
- Enforce safety regulations and address potential hazards in partnership with leaders and safety staff.
- Maintain compliance, safety, security, and quality standards by ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Manage expenses, identify cost savings opportunities, and optimize operational budgets.
- Manage and maintain sufficient inventory within the warehouse.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure product integrity.
- Proficiently use warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software to streamline operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Proven successful experience in the print industry highly preferred
- Proven successful experience in a warehouse, supply chain, and/or logistics leadership position
- 2- or 4-year degree preferred
Skills and competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Discipline to work independently and take initiative
- Ability to develop, influence, and coach direct and indirect reports
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with customers and internal teams
- Ability to quickly resolve operational issues and challenges and make decisive decisions to drive the business forward
- Adept at multitasking, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines, delegating, and holding themselves and others accountable
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
Physical Requirements:
- Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment
- Operation of warehouse machinery and equipment (e.g. carts, hand trucks, forklifts, reach trucks, and more)
- Ability to quickly address emergencies and provide leadership for resolution
- Follow strict adherence to all physical safety standards
- Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision
- Moving throughout the VGM facilities when needed
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
