Who We Want
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall appearance, safety and functionality of the My Possibilities building and grounds and manages a broad range of operations that allows MP to function efficiently and safely. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for supervising Environmental Services staff as well as serving as the primary contact for designated vendors and contractors.
Essential Functions
- Run daily building and grounds operations; triage and complete work orders promptly.
- Perform minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and finish repairs; coordinate licensed trades when needed.
- Plan preventive maintenance for building systems; maintain asset lists and service records.
- Support space moves, event setups, furniture installations, ergonomics, and signage.
- Schedule and accompany required inspections and tests for life‑safety and regulated equipment.
- Maintain Texas and local compliance permits and records; keep organized binders and digital files.
- Ensure OSHA/ADA/NFPA safety; close inspection findings; lead safety walks and toolbox talks.
- Manage hazardous materials/SDS, waste/recycling streams, and environmental controls per policy.
- Lead vendor selection, bids, contracts, and performance across all facilities service categories.
- Oversee landscaping, irrigation, tree care, storm readiness, and parking lot maintenance.
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, inspectors, and service partners; resolve issues promptly.
- Supervise Environmental Services staff; schedule work; coach, develop, and evaluate performance.
- Build annual operating/capital budgets; track spend, approve invoices, report variances.
- Manage renovations and capital projects end‑to‑end, from scope through closeout.
- Drive energy and water reductions; monitor utilities and implement cost‑saving measures.
- Coordinates deliveries of large donations as needed.
- Other facilities related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 years of building maintenance experience and/or training; a combination of education and experience will be considered
- Previous supervisory experience, preferred
- High school diploma or GED, Preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with all levels of people within the organization
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new systems
Working Conditions
- Must be able to walk, stand, climb stairs or ladders, and access various areas of the property
- May be required to push or pull items and reach overhead
- May be required to bend, stoop or kneel
- May require dexterity of hands and fingers and ability to grasp tools
- Must be able to see to perform inspections, read blueprints and schematics and read computer screens
- Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer
- Must be able to hear to detect sounds indicating potential issues, such as machinery noises or alarms
- May occasionally be required to lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lifting heavier items with assistance of team members or lifting equipment
- Must be able to operate various maintenance tools including power tools, ladders and lifts.
- Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment
- May be required to perform work outside with exposure to the elements
