PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Events and Engagement Liaison plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs by facilitating strong, collaborative relationships between the Club and community partners. This position serves as a connector who helps the Club work effectively with external organizations and stakeholders through planning impactful events, engaging local partners, and building meaningful connections. The role is ideal for a creative and organized professional passionate about youth development and community outreach.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Events and Engagement Liaison supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside by coordinating and executing mission-aligned events and fostering strong community relationships. As assigned, and under the direction and supervision of the Director of Community Impact, this role oversees event logistics, represents the Club publicly, and engages local stakeholders, including businesses, donors, and civic leaders, to increase the Club’s visibility and outreach. The ideal candidate will be organized, communicative, and passionate about youth development and community impact.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Under the direction of the Director of Community Impact and as assigned, lead the planning, coordination, and execution of events including annual gala, fundraisers, youth programs, and community outreach activities.
• Coordinate event logistics such as venue selection, vendor management, catering, AV, permits, supplies, and volunteer support.
• Conduct engaging tours of Club facilities to educate the public, donors, and partners about our programs and impact.
• Represent the Club at community tabling events, public forums, and civic engagements.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and elected officials to support program goals.
• Communicate the Club’s mission to diverse audiences and promote volunteer involvement.
• Support youth-centered events and assist program staff with event-related needs.
• Track event budgets and logistics to ensure efficient, timely, and on-brand delivery.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to align messaging and event objectives.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and occasional cross-departmental planning sessions.
• Provide administrative support for community partnerships and engagement tracking.
• Perform all other duties as assigned and in support of the Community Impact Team.
RELATIONSHIPS
• Internal: Work closely with the Community Impact Team, Club leadership, program staff, and volunteers.
• External: Engage with donors, elected officials, vendors, business partners, community groups, and families.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, community engagement, or event planning.
• Minimum 2 years of experience leading event coordination, volunteer management, or youth-serving organizations, including experience in the planning and execution of large-scale events.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and timelines efficiently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with event software platforms (e.g., Eventbrite, Canva, or Salesforce).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Passion for youth development and strong alignment with the Club’s mission and values.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong skills in event planning, donor engagement, and volunteer coordination, emphasizing logistics management and relationship building.
• Hands-on experience assisting in organizing large-scale events such as annual galas, fundraising campaigns, and community celebrations.
• Demonstrated ability to engage diverse audiences, including local businesses, civic leaders, and elected officials.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred to support inclusive community outreach.
• Familiarity with CRM systems or event management software.
• Background in public relations, marketing, or hospitality is a plus.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to travel between event locations and Club sites.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and move event materials and supplies as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Occasional evenings/weekends required based on event schedule.
