We have an immediate opening for an Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical) to work on Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) cases that affect the Heavyweight (HWT) and Lightweight (LWT) Torpedo production efforts. The Engineer will work closely with lead engineers and provide engineering support on potential alternatives and solutions.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include:
Working with lead engineers, will support obsolescence triage on cases that affect production.
Reviewing reports submitted by production contractor and provide analysis of DMSMS cases and related data.
Provide research services related to proposed obsolescence solutions. Evaluate and provide commentary in written and oral form.
Document and report to the government any technical hardware issues and provide recommendations for improvements.
Participate in design reviews of DMSMS solutions that require a re-design. Evaluate and provide commentary in written and oral form.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience.
Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment is essential, as well as self-motivation.
Proficient with MicroSoft Office. Will also use Navy Software systems.
Candidate must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
