Main responsibilities

Down Stairs: 

Maintain all priorities; supply all mixes (1st and 4th press systems). Accurately enter all C1 and C4 chemical mixes into order plan, time out all chemicals to minimize waste and downtime working with the entire team to complete orders. Assist where else needed or required. Report to the machine floor whenever possible to free up the second hand to provide additional support to 22 winder (mandatory for winder breaks and lunches to assist on machine floor) or the PM and or also provide support to either area. Rotate to the Backtender Upstairs positing on scheduled frequency

 

Upstairs:

Maintain all priorities, maintain necessary stock of cores for the PM, complete visual inspections and deckle measurements, and maintain all ink markers so that they are in good working order, Plan slitter set ups and set up slitters, maintain reel storage area north of 11 so that it is safe. Move reels pull shafts load shafts as needed for both 11 and 22 winder. Load trailers enter locations of reels into order plan. Maintain both press areas during web changes and wash ups, support 22 winder during lunch and breaks so that the winder can run thru the lunch and breaks, Assist on the winder when ever needed while running small diameter, getting materials. Assist Machine Tender as needed. Rotate each month to the Back Tender 2 position on scheduled frequency

  • Assists in training of personnel in the use of current/new/modified equipment.
  • Provides necessary troubleshooting so that key metrics are in control.
  • Able to work safely and independently to identify and resolve any quality issues.
  • Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
  • Ability to communicate quality, machine and area issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain all priorities (Safety-Environmental-Quality-Uptime)
  •  Assist winder crews with loading and moving reels keeping the SFG area organized
  • Complete all necessary forms and data entry
  • Complete necessary quality inspections (deckle, visuals, and online inspections).
  • Actively participate in improvement teams
  • Identify and immediately report any unsafe act, condition or potential hazard following company policy.
  • Constant alertness; must be able to complete multiple tasks correctly and simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work safely, independently, quickly and accurately with little supervision required.
  • Must strictly adhere to on-call policy responsibilities.
  • Must be able to work consecutive days within our company policy guidelines with little advanced notification.
