Job Summary:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Workforce Development Supervisor is responsible for developing a strong workforce that supports the organizational and community needs of the Cherokee Nation by developing, implementing, and managing workforce development training plans and curricula. The Workforce Development Supervisor is responsible for providing support and facilitating the implementation of strategic priorities.

Job Duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         Provide leadership to the Workforce Development team.

·         Develop and coordinate specific training, coaching, and mentoring opportunities to address identified gaps.

·         Develop training courses, curriculum and materials while continually assessing program effectiveness and navigating improvements.

·         Maintain records of training activities, employee participation and/or assessment results.

·         Create monthly training calendars and arrange for internal and/or external trainers as needed.

·         Implements learning and development policies and programs.

·         Develop and maintains the Standard Operation Policies for Workforce Development in compliance with the  Cherokee Nation and other accrediting agencies.

·         Other duties as assigned.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

·         Supervisor. Provides leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.

·         Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter, and the field’s concepts and principles.

·         Sets work procedures, priorities, levels of responsibility and objectives.

Qualifications:

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university, or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree preferred.

·         An additional one (1) year of experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a Valid Driver’s License with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
