Purpose / Summary of Position:

The Tax Accountant will prepare tax filings and payments, identify tax savings, and analyze tax issues.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax returns.
  • Research tax laws and regulations and keep up to date with changes and industry trends.
  • Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits.
  • Analyze and organize spending, increase write-offs, and lower taxable profit.
  • Maintain corporate tax records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personal financial information.
  • Negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues.
  • Advise management regarding the tax impact of corporate strategies.
  • Identify tax savings in prospective acquisition scenarios.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of tax accounting experience, preferably public accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Strong communication and analytic skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate organization and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and tax software.
