The Education & Visitor Experience Fall Internship is a 12-week program, starting 9/29/25 and ending 12/21/2025.


Salary Description: $15.00 hourly


Classification: Non-exempt

Naples Botanical Garden is a 170-acre world-class paradise, featuring the flora and cultures of the tropics and sub-tropics including Brazil, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and Florida. Position Summary: The Internship in Education & Visitor Experience at Naples Botanical Garden offers current or recent students an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in environmental education and outdoor interpretation. The intern will work closely with the Education & Visitor Experience team to lead youth education programs for school groups, prepare and deliver programs for visitors, and assist in other interpretive opportunities and projects. This internship begins in September and ends in December with flexible start and end dates. Weekday morning and early afternoon availability preferred. 


Primary Duties:

  • Assist Educators leading the Fourth Grade Field Trip Specialist Program, Budding Botanists.
  • Collaborate with Garden staff to research, plan, and deliver interpretive materials and educational programs for a variety of audiences.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Garden-wide events, exhibitions, and projects as required or needed. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned and required. 

Requirements:

  • Be pursuing a degree in education, environmental education, anthropology, environmental studies, museum studies, or have an equivalent level of education and experience 
  • Highly organized and motivated with a strong work ethic 
  • Familiarity with Office365 products: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and a desire to learn 
  • Willingness and ability to work full days outdoors in a hot and humid environment and ability to lift and carry at least 35 pounds 
  • Possess a commitment to the Garden’s mission of connecting people with plants. 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including at least two weekends per month and holidays 
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation 
  • A pre-employment background check required
