The Wound Tech is responsible for, but not limited to, taking and recording patient vitals, drawing blood and other samples, assisting the physician during exams and treatment, keeping patient charts updated, coordinating patient care, and arranging for labs, tests and treatment needed during examinations.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to HIPAA, and company policies and procedures

  • Ability to accurately document all information regarding patients and their treatment

  • Assist on-duty provider with administering the highest standard of care possible

  • Inform provider/RN promptly regarding the change of a patient’s health or well-being

  • Provide education and training of the patient/patient family

  • Uphold any required certifications or trainings to properly use all clinical equipment

  • Accurately and timely complete all patient records and documentation

 

 

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • CPR and BLS certification by American Heart Association

  • One year of previous physician or hospital experience

  • Strong communication skills
    Exceptional time management skills

  • Work efficiently

  • Quick response time

  • Knowledge of medical supplies, order procedures, inventory and clerical skills are helpful

Work Location and Schedule Expectation:

  • Assigned facility
  • No remote scheduling available
  • Hourly schedule as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time and sit intermittently. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific hearing and vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and adjust focus.

The work environment is primarily a clinical office setting.

Health Care Status: Direct patient contact within the facility setting.
