Operate radio, telephone, and computer equipment to receive reports from security personnel and equipment and relay information to proper officials.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills: Effective telephone and communication skills Ability to receive and give verbal instructions effectively Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals Proficient map reading skills
Experience: One year experience in public safety telecommunications Level II Security License
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Communication:
Maintain continuous radio contact with police and security officers.
Monitor alarm systems to detect emergencies such as fires and illegal entry. Dispatch security personnel for intrusion or trespass, fire alarms, and emergencies.
Coordinate with other enforcement agencies or departments to obtain additional help as needed.
Relay information and messages to and from emergency sites, departments, or agencies, and to all others requiring notification.
Notify maintenance personnel of after-hours temperature and systems alarms.
Reports/Records:
Record details of calls, dispatches, and messages.
Maintain all required physical and computerized files.
Other:
Maintain confidentiality of information.
Perform any and all duties as assigned by the Chief of Police.
Successfully advances district initiatives.
Secure campus parking, parking permits and exterior doors.
Able to converse constructively with students and staff.
Give verbal directions and information when needed
Be highly visible while on patrol
Able to flex hours in order to cover extra events in district when needed
Salary: Minimum $26,659 annually - 187 days Salary determination will be based on verified relevant work experience.
