This position would be fostering these 4 principles through assisting staff members and students by supporting the needs of teachers and students as a student support coordinator.
Specific Duties Are:
This position plays a vital role in fostering a positive and supportive environment for our students, staff, and families.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a strong commitment to student success.
Build Strong Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and families to create a supportive and inclusive school community.Attendance Monitoring: Monitor student attendance weekly and prepare attendance letters for students with excessive absences.
Student Support Services (ISD): Supervise and monitor students in In-School Detention (ISD), ensuring compliance with school policies and providing guidance and support as needed. Collect assignments from classroom teachers for students in ISS to ensure continuity of learning.
Restorative Practices: Facilitate restorative practice assignments and discussions to address conflicts and promote positive behavior and relationships among students.
Identify Students in Need: Generate reports on our Student Information System to help the administrative team identify at-risk students. Assist the admin team in developing a WHOLE Student Support plan for each identified student.
Monthly Accountability Lunch Check-ins: Conduct monthly accountability lunch check-ins with students who have excessive behavior referrals and poor grades. Provide mentorship, support, and resources to help students improve their behavior and academic performance.
Assist school administration as needed
