Position Summary
From start to completion, the A/V Technician is involved in details, spec’ing and engineering events, as well as, executing the Audio Visual elements during the event. This position requires knowledge and skills in technical execution, client relations, and organization. The A/V Technician must be able to anticipate issues and assist in finding solutions quickly.
Essential Function
While not all-inclusive, the following is a list of primary and general duties. In addition to these listed duties, this position shall also perform other tasks as assigned, shall abide by all provisions of the Employee Handbook, and shall participate in all company initiatives and projects.
Serve as client liaison and technician for live events, serving in Audio, Video, and Lighting functions, with additional support depending on the scope of the show
Coordinate with sales and production team members to fulfill client needs
Attend client site visits, taking appropriate notes and questions back to the team
Create Proposals and Pull Sheets in Inventory Management System
Update and communicate all Audio Visual layout changes to other team members and stakeholders
Assist with Inventory Management and Maintenance of Audio Visual gear
Work Environment
This role involves frequent communication with internal employees and external contacts--via phone, email and any other professional means of communication necessary.
Physical Demands
The person in this role must be able to both move about the venue frequently, walk, bend, stoop, stand and climb, and at times, remain stationary depending on the task or the shift of the day. This person must move about occasionally inside the office to access office machinery and to have routine contact with other facility individuals. The person in this role must effectively interact with employees, obtain information, attend meetings-or as needed to complete the essential job duties. The person in this role must have the ability to move up to 100 lbs occasionally, and up to 50 lbs frequently.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a Full Time position. Hours of work are typically an 8 hour day with breaks and lunches given per compliance with federal and state laws. This person in this role will work a flexible shift based on business needs.
Travel
This position requires infrequent travel, less than 25%. Travel may be mixed -- local and outside the local area and overnight.
Preferred Education and Experience
High School Degree or equivalent is required
2+ years experience running Audio and Video systems for live events
Proven track record of positive client relations
Audio experience using Yamaha and Beringer Audio Consoles
Video experience running Presentations and using Roland switchers
Proven understanding of industry standards
