SUMMARY/POSITION OVERVIEW 

This individual will work closely with the Program Scheduling Manager as a super-user of the SIMS Program Scheduling software system to ensure the accurate scheduling of complex and high-profile programming. On a daily basis, the incumbent will be responsible for inputting critical details of entertainment content contracts and be accountable for preparing discrete segments of the programming schedule for acquired, original, Ministry Sales and Ministry Outreach content, along with driving the planning and execution of linear programming for Free AdSupported Television channels. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of scheduling the FAST network in the absence of the Scheduling Manager. 


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Build and update daily, weekly, and monthly linear programming schedules across FAST channels. 
  • Ensure accurate placement of shortform promo or evergreen content to fill out ad breaks. 
  • Continuously monitor playout, resolving log discrepancies, slot overruns, or technical issues. 
  • Export schedules to playout and EPG guides. 
  • Distributes approved program schedules. 
  • Coordinates all necessary scheduling info with internal and external teams. 
  • Summarizes data and available content to support decisions. 
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. 
  • Assists with training individuals who need access to various scheduling software and to confirm processes.    
  • Demonstrates clear expertise and in-depth working knowledge of all areas of this function and system.  
  • Implements assigned duties independently with direction from management. 
  • Interfaces with ministry programmers to secure scheduling information. Maintains ministry programmers’ schedules in both Sharepoint and SIMS. 
  • Helps determine processes and procedures for clean workflow of the Scheduling department.  
  • In the absence of the Program Scheduling Manager, assumes a leadership role in managing the scheduling function and interfaces daily with the EVP of Programming – and VP’s of Acquisitions & Original Programming for INSP. 



Requirements

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  • At least 5 years progressively complex experience in network scheduling 
  • Full knowledge and skill set for the SIMS scheduling system or similar (not required) 
  • Full knowledge of Free AdSupported Streaming TV platforms (not required) 
  • Excellent oral and written communications 
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and teaming skills 
  • Able to handle last-minute changes with composure and efficiency 
  • Self-motivated to follow through on assigned projects and elements thereof, with emphasis being placed on timely and thorough execution 
  • Extremely detailed 
  • Skilled in database management 
  • Effective in time management and schedules 
  • Accomplished in the use of personal computers and related software applications (such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access) 
  • Mature, responsible team player
