Starting Rate of Pay: $10.00

Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.

Mission of Hayworth Chapel and Religious Life Office

Job Location/ Hours Required

The candidate will perform job duties in the Chapel and remotely. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to 20 hours per week.

Job Description

As an Assistant Instrumental Director, you will gain professional experience in administrative duties and develop your knowledge of instruments, arranging and music theory. You’ll also help the Music Director recruit other musicians, coordinate schedules, lead rehearsals and manage soundchecks in their absence. Along with the music director, your goal is to curate meaningful worship experiences for the congregation while introducing them to various sacred music genres in the Christian tradition.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead instrumentalists of Collision Worship Band in rehearsal and worship
  • Recruit musicians for Collision Worship Band.
  • Aid Collision Music Director as needed with:
    • Work with Collision Scheduler on scheduling instrumentalists for weekly Chapel and HPU Sunday.
    • Organize and maintain a digital CRL Music Library
    • Enter songs and inputs in Planning Center
    • Create transpositions
    • Sit in on different rehearsals with different directors
    • Keep spreadsheet or song suggestions
    • Create rehearsal plans
    • Other duties as assigned by Music Director

Expectations

  • Copy Chapel and Collision Music Director on all email and phone correspondence
  • Communicate often with Music Director

  • Administrative and excellent organizational skills
