Job description

The focus of your activities as a DXP Architect will be the oversight of the development of complex web applications and platforms enabling great user experiences and multi-channel strategies based on Drupal and the Acquia DXP.

Join our interdisciplinary team of designers, consultants and software engineers, who are looking forward to welcoming established and innovative colleagues. Your range of tasks covers the entire software development process from analysis through execution. Your customers are large B2B & B2C companies or organizations with strong web-affinity. As an experienced Architect, you like to mentor younger team members and are willing to share your knowledge internally and externally.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Drupal CMS and the Acquia Digital Experience Platform (DXP)
  • Experience with Acquia products such as Site Factory, Site Studio, Acquia Cloud Platform, Acquia DAM and Acquia CDP
  • Familiarity with Acquia’s hosting, CI/CD pipelines, and development workflows
  • Understanding of Acquia’s best practices for performance, security, and scalability
  • Experience with headless or decoupled Drupal architectures
  • Strong knowledge of current web technologies and experience with standard software frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Drupal core and contributed modules, custom module development, and theming
  • Expertise in software architecture and technical design for scalable, secure, and maintainable Drupal solutions
  • Familiarity with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MariaDB), RESTful APIs, GraphQL, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and AJAX
  • Experience with development environments and tools such as Docker, Git, and IDEs like VS Code or PHPStorm
  • Ability to drive architectural decisions, evaluate technologies, and lead proof of concepts (PoCs) for client use cases, translating complex business requirements into scalable Drupal and Acquia solutions
  • Strong personal initiative and a passion for continuous learning
  • Ability to provide technical leadership to development teams, including code reviews, mentorship, and guidance on best practices for Drupal development
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate complex discussions and collaborate across diverse teams
  • University or college degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Very good English skills
