Staff Wellness Coordinator
Job Description:
Responsible for planning, implementing, and managing district-wide employee wellness initiatives that support a healthy, engaged, and productive workforce. Develops and promotes programs aligned with DCSD’s goals to enhance employee well-being, reduce health risks, and foster a positive workplace culture. Collaborates with internal departments, external vendors, and wellness champions to ensure initiatives are effective, accessible, and sustainable.ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Office environment with occasional travel to school sites and district locations
Occasional evening or weekend work required for wellness events
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift up to TWENTY-FIVE (25) pounds for event materials.
MINIMUM EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong presentation and facilitation abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and independently with minimal supervision.
Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsibilities:
Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to program participation, health trends, and engagement to assess program impact and drive data-informed improvements.
Stay informed of industry trends and evidence-based practices in workplace wellness to continuously evolve and improve DCSD’s wellness offerings.
Develop, coordinate, and manage a comprehensive wellness program aimed at reducing health risks, controlling medical costs, and promoting healthy lifestyles among DCSD employees.
Support and coordinate the Wellness Champions network, including recruitment, training, and guidance to promote grassroots wellness engagement at individual sites.
Ensure all wellness initiatives are compliant and align with district policies and contribute positively to the overall culture and climate.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with external partners, including the district's benefits broker, carrier account managers, and wellness vendors, and community partners,to maximize program effectiveness and integration with the medical plan.
Provide recommendations to the Benefits Director regarding wellness program budgets, vendor selection, and resource allocation
Act as a district liaison to promote engagement, gather employee feedback, and encourage participation in wellness initiatives through events, campaigns, and ongoing communication.
Prepare and present comprehensive reports on participation, outcomes, and the financial impact of wellness initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Implement a wide range of wellbeing activities such as health screenings, events, seminars, flu shots, and fitness and well-being classes.
