Our mission is to document her story, ensuring that history includes her experiences and contributions. We firmly believe that a woman's truth fosters empathy, empathy builds community, and community creates connection, which is essential to us all. On our pages, storytellers share authentic, uncensored personal essays, creating a safe space for genuine voices to be heard and valued. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Manager to join our team in the accounting industry. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing our purchasing processes to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely acquisition of goods and services necessary for the magazine's operations. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to an organization centered on meaningful storytelling and community building while ensuring smooth and efficient procurement practices that support our mission and daily operations.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee procurement strategies that align with company goals and budget constraints.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including negotiation of contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting and editorial staff, to assess procurement needs and timelines.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to maintain high-quality standards and service reliability.
  • Monitor market trends and identify new sourcing opportunities to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to procurement and accounting practices.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management, highlighting cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for auditing and financial reporting purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the accounting or publishing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize purchasing decisions and resolve issues effectively.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and reporting tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with vendors and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical procurement practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.
