Position Summary

Defense Holdings, Inc. (DHi) is seeking a Hybrid Bookkeeping Staff Accountant to maintain accounting records, reconcile accounts, and support team accounting activities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced with bookkeeping and financial reporting.

This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate with team members effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Accounts Processing

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records across multiple accounts.
  • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare financial entries and adjustments as needed.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Assist in preparing financial reports for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support audits and financial reporting processes.

Cross-Department Coordination

  • Collaborate with finance, billing, and operations teams.
  • Ensure bookkeeping procedures align with company policies and industry standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in government contracting or defense-related accounting.
  • Familiarity with ERP or accounting platforms.

Work Environment

  • Professional office environment (or hybrid/remote if applicable).
  • May require occasional travel.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance may be required.
