Position Summary
Yellow Jacket Maintenance Services is seeking an experienced Plumbing Superintendent to join our growing team. This role supports a wide variety of maintenance and repair needs across residential and community association properties. The ideal candidate is dependable, has extensive experience as a service plumber, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and professional service.
What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for overseeing a team of qualified plumbers and plumber assistants, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality. This role requires strong time management, extensive knowledge of local and state plumbing codes, and excellent leadership skills.
- Supervise, train, and mentor plumbers and apprentices
- Plan, assign, and oversee plumbing projects from start to finish
- Ensure all work complies with applicable plumbing codes, safety regulations, and company standards
- Create scopes of work and draft estimates
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex plumbing issues in the field
- Maintain company equipment and purchase materials as needed
- At times perform hands on work orders or assist plumbers in the field
- Active Chicago Plumbing License a plus
- Active Chicago Drainlayer license a plus
Requirements
What You’ll Need
- 10+ years of plumbing experience
- Ability to lift and carry tools and materials up to 50 lbs regularly and 75–100 lbs occasionally
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Strong communication skills and a general understanding of property management environments
- Fluency in English
- Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule
