ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.   

  • Promote innovative, recreational, and social programs designed to enhance resident's lives. 
  • Encourage client’s participation in group activities. 
  • Visit regularly with clients who tend to be alone. 
  • Prepare and maintain activity care plans and activity participation logs for each resident. 
  • Create monthly schedule, making sure holiday events are planned around that month. 
  • Report inventory needs to manager, keeping activities supplies always on hand. 
  • Assist clients to and from activities and to dining room for meals. 
  • Assist in dining room at meal times, eating with clients, and monitoring clients at this time. 
  • Greet guests and provide directions.  Respond to personal emergency response system and direct to emergency location. 
  • Work with admissions and Director to promote a positive image of the Lincolnshire Place and to ensure a smooth transition for new residents. 
  • Solicit resident and family feedback, involve residents in problem solving/general ideas for new service or features, and when possible implement resident suggestions. 
  • Provide respect, privacy, and dignity to all residents and does not enter apartments inappropriately. 
  • Is able to work independently as well as a team member with a positive attitude. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Prior experience is preferred. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS  

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence and activity care plans.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents, families, and other employees of the organization. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

 

REASONING ABILITY  

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
