Description

• Implement, troubleshoot, and sustain Linux based physical and virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center
• Work closely with network engineers, system engineers, cybersecurity engineers, and additional system administrators, to provide high quality, innovative engineering services to the Government customer
• Work with system engineers and Senior system administrators to identify and define requirements for new systems/system modifications, developing designs, and implementing and testing solutions
• Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers to conduct on-going vulnerability scanning and system patching, as necessary, to reduce cybersecurity risks
• Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations
• Work with Senior system administrators to develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation
• Ensure system software installs, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements
• Focus on creating, upgrading, managing and sustaining physical and virtual workstations and servers
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education/Training: 

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or science discipline preferred
• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security+) required

Experience:

• 3+ years of professional experience in the required task area  

Security:

• Must be a US citizen

• Candidate must be in possession of a minimum DoD issued Secret Clearance

Physical Requirements:

• Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
• Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
• Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
• Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Salary: $110,000 - 130,000
