Description
The Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the entire lifecycle—from incoming components and manufacturing to final system validation and customer delivery. This role partners cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Suppliers to drive continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for hardware and system-level quality issues.
Testing Support
- Perform system-level and component-level failure analysis on servers, storage systems, and rack-level integrations.
- Analyze hardware, firmware, and system logs to identify failure patterns and contributing factors.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA), isolate failure modes and coordinate corrective/preventive actions with the vendors.
- Develop and execute failure reproduction and validation test plans.
R&D Support
- Reliability testing knowledge related to Quality and Manufacturing to prevent field issues.
- Provide input to improve product reliability, test coverage, and documentation.
Quality & Reliability Support
- Support Failure Analysis (FA), RMAs, and field return investigations
- Drive 8D / corrective action for customer-reported issues
- Identify systemic issues and escape risks from field data
- Participate in reliability testing and validation when required
Documentation Support
- Prepare FA reports, issue summaries, and customer presentations
- Maintain clear communication with customers on status, risks, and action plans
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering within hardware, electronics, or manufacturing environments
- Hands-on experience with server systems, PCB, GPUs, or electromechanical assemblies
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and global suppliers
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience in server, storage, HPC, or data center hardware environments
- Experience with supplier audits and process validation
- Knowledge of reliability testing (HALT/HASS, thermal, vibration)
Salary range offered for this position is between $110,000 to $150,000 annually. This can be subject to change based on the candidate's experience level and skill set.
