Why this role matters:
As a key member of the IT Engineering team, you will be designing, developing and maintaining Corporate applications, technologies and solutions, used by the globally distributed Vonage workforce. An ideal candidate for this role is an individual that has a diverse and deep technical background in a wide range of technical disciplines. This includes building and maintaining AWS and Azure cloud native infrastructure and services, including creation of relevant IaaS automation & CI/CD pipelines, configuration and maintenance of SaaS and cloud native applications such as Okta, Jira, Confluence, Slack, Github, Active Directory, TrendMicro, Google Workspace applications, Netskope, SCCM and other similar corporate applications, and integration and automation of associated workflows.
Your key responsibilities:
- Deploy, manage, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available AWS and Azure infrastructure including compute (EC2, VMs) for Windows workloads, networking (VPCs, vNets, security groups), storage (S3, Blob storage).
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
- Proven experience in managing and supporting VDI technologies, specifically AWS WorkSpaces (Windows) and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Deploy and administer Windows Server environments on AWS, including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), patching (WSUS/SCCM), and server hardening.
- Extended administration on one or more corporate applications, software and tools hosted on-prem and AWS cloud environment, such as Active Directory, SCCM, Okta, Jira, Confluence, Slack, GitHub, Netskope, TrendMicro, Google Workspace, etc.
- Extended administration and maintenance of corporate applications and services hosted in Azure cloud, including Azure AD, M365, Teams.
- Implement and manage infrastructure using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell (for Windows) and Python (for AWS/General automation).
- Set up and manage monitoring (CloudWatch, Prometheus) and logging solutions to ensure system health and performance.
- Assist Tier1 corporate support in troubleshooting and addressing user provisioning, de-provisioning and access issues as needed.
- Implement AWS IAM policies, security groups, and Windows security best practices (patching, antivirus, compliance).
- Participate in 24x7 on-call support as necessary.
- Flexible for rotational shifts, including night shift.
What you'll bring:
- Ability to listen, communicate, evaluate, problem solve in a multi tasking team environment.
- Experience with AWS services mentioned (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, WorkSpaces, Directory Service) and comparable Azure services.
- Experience in IaaC tools like AWS CloudFormation & Terraform.
- Experience in build, configuration, tuning, securing, patching and maintenance of Windows Systems and applications on AWS and Azure.
- Excellent understanding of automation frameworks, CI/CD, Jenkins, Bamboo or Concourse and usage in conjunction with IaaC automation tools and source code management software like Github.
- Experience in authoring and maintaining complex scripts to automate tasks.
- Experience in Powershell and Python required.
- Experience in configuration, management and maintenance of AWS cloud infrastructure and services like Azure AD, M365, Teams.
- Experience in Core Infrastructure services like Active Directory, DNS, NTP, Kerberos, Radius, LDAP, SMTP, CIFS, DHCP,SCCM,M365.
- Experience with applications and collaboration tools and services like Active Directory, SCCM, MS365, Okta, Jira, Confluence, Slack, Github, TrendMicro, Google G-suite applications, Netskope.
- Understanding of AWS and Azure Networking fundamentals like Security Groups, Inbound rules, VPC’s/VNet’s, Subnets, Internet Gateways, Transit Gateways, NAT and ENI’s.
- Experience in writing technical documentation, including design documents, end user facing documents,and run books.
- Experience with system monitoring and related metrics.
- Experience handling production incidents.
- Excellent communication skills, including presentation skills to peers and managers.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years experience in managing and maintaining AWS or Azure cloud native infrastructure.
- 3+ years experience in managing and maintaining corporate applications and workforce management, collaboration tools.
- 3+ years experience in Windows administration, automation frameworks. Experience in Linux administration is a plus.
- 3+ years experience in Powershell & Python programming.
- Microsoft MCSE certification or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals are an added advantage.
