Housekeeping Supervisor bei Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital

Description

Supervises the activities of the EVS/housekeeping staff to ensure the highest standards of sanitation and cleanliness of all Hospital facilities, linens, floor coverings, etc. in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures. Adheres to quality assurance, safety, environmental and infectious control, and all regulatory requirements.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Schedules, assigns, and supervises the daily activities of the housekeeping staff.
• Trains departmental staff on department policies, procedures, and job responsibilities.
• Works hands-on with staff when necessary or when short staffed to ensure departmental expectations and responsibilities are met.
• Inspects equipment for safety and sanitary condition.
• Inspects work during shift to assure satisfactory completion.
• Maintains inventory of materials and orders as needed.
• Monitors condition of furniture, fixtures, etc. and reports need for replacement or repair to Director of Facilities.
• Mops, dusts, sweeps, washes, and other housekeeping duties as required.
• Use of power equipment as needed.
• Regarding employees under his/her supervision, assures adequate staffing, training, communication, and compliance with Hospital policies; administers work rules, regulations, and disciplinary action when necessary.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum two (2) years Housekeeping supervisory experience in a Health Care setting required.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures required.
• Knowledge of materials and equipment required to accomplish tasks.
• Strong Leadership and communication skills
• Ability to operate power equipment
• Lift up to 50 pounds, exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently
