The Role

The People Partner | North America (NA) plays a critical role in shaping the 360-employee experience and enabling leaders to build high‑performing, engaged teams. As a trusted advisor and thought partner, you will work closely with managers, employees and our global Centers of Excellence to support organizational effectiveness, talent acquisition & development, employee relations, and a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

This role blends strategic thinking with day‑to‑day People Team support and is ideal for someone who enjoys coaching at all levels, solving people challenges, recruiting and retaining top talent, and driving meaningful impact across the business. The People Partner role reports to the AVP, People | North America.   

 

Role Accountabilities

Business Partnering

  • Operate in a generalist capacity across all client groups for a holistic 360 People approach, with a desire to have deep understanding of our teams and business to ensure high touch support.
  • Manage and respond to headcount requests by partnering with business leaders to assess workforce needs, ensure alignment with budget and organizational priorities, and provide guidance on staffing strategies to support growth and operational efficiency
  • Lead key annual performance initiatives for NA client group.
  • Assist with local internal communications, learning and development in addition to inclusion in partnership with global centres of excellence.

Employee Coaching and Advisement

  • Contribute to the management of employee relations.
  • Work directly with managers/team members to discuss any areas of concern, needs for development, and facilitate coaching where requested.                                                                                                                                     

Culture/Engagement

  • Gatekeeper of culture with a proximity to consumer group and business.
  • Contribute to bringing the vision of L&D and DE&I activations and events to life, engaging diverse audiences across corporate New York Magic Office employees, field teams, and retail employees                                                                           
  • Facilitate feedback sessions following employee voice surveys, staying closely connected to survey data and the rollout process to ensure insights are accurately captured, trends are monitored, and action plans reflect employee perspectives in driving organizational improvements.

Employee Lifecycle (In Partnership w/ People Services)

  • Finger on the pulse of needs, anticipating them and providing proactive solutions.
  • In partnership with People Services, help foster a magical employee experience and drive Global People strategy aligned with our NA regional strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with regional/global partners and key stakeholders on day-to-day business responsibilities in addition to large scale regional/global initiatives.
  • Actively identify gaps or development areas in People processes, and ways of working, proposing, and implementing changes necessary to cover risks and improve efficiencies.

Talent Acquisition

  • Point of contact for all recruitment inquiries for designated client group/territory.
  • Run a 360-recruiting desk for specified client group/territory, carrying candidates from initial contact through closing and onboarding.
  • Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers, providing market research and establishing consistent interview processes.
  • Leverage inbound and outbound sourcing tools to engage, attract, and recruit new talent.
  • Screen candidates and make recommendations to hiring teams.
  • Lend insight on workforce planning to ensure we are setup for success and continue to grow responsibly.

Talent Management (Career Planning & Succession Planning)

  • Strong focus on internal talent care (career pathing, development, coaching) and ability to identify and further develop top internal talent.
  • Partner closely with AVP, People and regional/global People Partners, on career and succession planning.
  • Aid in narrowing talent gaps, increasing both retention and employee management through understanding of learning needs.

Reporting Relationships - Reports to AVP, People | North America

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience.
  • High empathy and high energy with a seek to understand mentality.
  • Strong interpersonal skill set including ability to influence across all levels and regions.
  • Significant, proven experience as an HRBP in corporate environment with beauty/fashion and direct talent experience a plus!
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient with LinkedIn Recruiter and applicant tracking systems.
  • Solutions-focused with great attention to detail.
  • A role model for people-focused leadership standards and behavior.
  • Strong and deliberate grasp of situational leadership with an ability to embed and influence behavior at all levels.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and handle multiple priorities simultaneously with strong operations/project management skills.
  • Experience in global companies both small and large.

Benefits

Base Salary Range - $110,000 - $120,000**
