About the Role

 

As an Investment Analyst, you'll be at the intersection of strategy, finance, and insurance, evaluating and executing transactions that advance Swiss Re's strategic objectives. You'll work with senior leaders to identify, analyze, and implement investment opportunities that create lasting value.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate strategic opportunities by assessing fit with investment appetite, analyzing benefits and risks, conducting financial analysis, and determining valuation and returns
  • Execute transactions from start to finish, including due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and documentation
  • Collaborate with Business Unit leaders and key internal and external partners throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Support value creation for portfolio companies through active engagement with company management
  • Prepare decision-making materials for executive committees, including Corporate Development Investment Committee and Group Executive Committee
  • Monitor industry trends in insurance and reinsurance sectors through continuous engagement with external and internal stakeholders
  • Travel regionally to oversee existing investments and conduct due diligence on new opportunities

 

 

About the Team

 

Corporate Development is a global team located in New York, Zurich, London and Hong Kong and is part of Swiss Re's Group Asset Management division. Our two primary functions are to lead M&A activities for Swiss Re at the Group and Business Unit levels and oversee a portfolio of direct private equity minority interest investments in insurance-related businesses.

 

 

About You

 

You're an analytical professional with transaction experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You combine financial acumen with excellent communication skills and have a passion for deal-making. Your collaborative approach and self-starter mentality make you an ideal fit for our high-performing team.

 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

 

  • 3-5 years of relevant full-time work experience in a transaction-focused, analytical environment (e.g., Corporate Development, Investment Banking or Private Equity)
  • Previous exposure to M&A transactions or private equity investments, ideally in financial services space
  • Demonstrated analytical ability, financial acumen and modelling skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact within a corporate environment
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Insurance, Actuarial Science or a related field
  • Ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional teams
  • Strong presence, judgment, and "self-starter" personality
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in or knowledge of the insurance/reinsurance industry is a strong plus

 

For Switzerland, the base salary range for this position is between CHF 116'000 and CHF 174'000 for a full-time role.

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role

• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience
