Job Description:

Unique FACEM opportunity, in this six month Fixed Term part time (28.5hrs per week) Deputy Director Emergency role, based in Geelong, you will be responsible for providing outstanding clinical leadership to the Emergency Department Medical and Nursing teams and report to Director Emergency.

You will make an impact by:

  • Champion the very highest quality of healthcare and patient safety, consistent with the Epworth Values and Behaviours.
  • Managing the resources of the ED to ensure optimal effectiveness and efficiency and continuing service improvement.
  • Building productive relationships with internal (especially the Epworth Geelong ED) and external stakeholders and partners, nationally and internationally.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong clinical knowledge, with highly developed skills in Emergency Medicine
  • An ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Experience as a team leader with strong people skills and an ability to build and sustain effective and efficient teams
  • A commitment to the professional development of doctors, nursing staff within the ED.
  • Logical and practical thinker skills, with a strong capacity for problem solving
  • A capacity to represent Epworth Geelong in a constructive manner, and to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, both internal and external
