Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Internal Tendering Engineer to join our Water Infrastructure team. This role is pivotal in supporting the commercial and technical preparation of tenders and proposals for water and wastewater projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will work closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of bids that meet customer requirements and align with Xylem’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate technical and commercial tender submissions for water and wastewater projects.
  • Interpret client specifications and requirements to develop compliant and competitive proposals.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, Operations, Finance) to gather necessary input for tenders.
  • Product selection
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted within deadlines.
  • Support post-tender activities including clarifications, negotiations, and handovers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of tendering processes and tools
  • Utilize and manage our Salesforce CRM platform for opportunities
  • Ensuring quotes that need done are completed within the required timeframes
  • Receiving and processing Orders
  • Ensure that all orders have the correct discount authority.
  • Work with the Xylem Field Account Managers to ensure that the customer gets the best experience possible.
  • To deal with customer issues and to find a resolution in a prompt & fair manner
  • Liaise with Logistics partners and European Factories to ensure delivery requirements and issues are resolved in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • To assist in departmental initiatives as and when required.
  • Carry out other tasks as may be defined that may be required to develop the business.

What do we ask from you for this position?

  • Previous experience of working within an engineering environment, ideally the water industry.
  • Experience within a customer service role dealing with a high volume of enquiries / orders, complaints and KPI’s
  • Literate in spoken and written English.
  • Calm, considered and diligent in approach
  • Presentable, polite and well mannered
  • This person’s expertise would be in operations and logistic with relevant product knowledge.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or related field).
  • 2+ years of experience in tendering, proposals, or technical sales support role (preferably in water, utilities, or infrastructure).
  • Strong understanding of tendering procedures and public procurement processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with CRM or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively across teams.
