About Us
Palliative Care South East provides palliative care in the southeast metropolitan region of Melbourne. We support people with a life-limiting illness to live well and, in doing so, provide support at home to improve the quality of life of individuals, carers and families. Our specialist palliative care services are provided to people of all ages, free of charge, in the Local Government areas of Cardinia, Casey, Greater Dandenong and part of Kingston.
The Role
To provide high quality reception duties for the organisation. This position also includes medical records, data management and accurate maintenance of client related documentation activities, as well as providing other administrative support for the organisation as required.
The Administrative Officer works as part of the administrative team in a customer service capacity to ensure the timely and efficient response to all incoming telephone calls and is the first point of contact for visitors to the organisation in keeping with PCSE’s provision of high-quality services to clients and their families/carers. This is a Part Time, 12-month fixed-term Contract.
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated high level general reception and associated administration skills
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent presentation
- High-level computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office
- Proven experience with clinical record management/data base system
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Demonstrated ability to be well organised, prioritise work and meet deadlines
- Experience in a customer-service environment preferably within a not-for-profit or community organisation
- Ability to effectively manage multiple and conflicting tasks
- Experience using medical terminology
- An understanding of the issues faced by individuals and families/carers living with a life-limiting illness gained through clinical experience
