As the External Reporting Controller Vice President within the JPMorgan Chase & Co Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Finance organization, you will support SEC and Regulatory Reporting for the CCB line of business (LOB). You will oversee Regulatory Reporting (primarily Call Report, FR Y-9C, FRY -15, and FR Y-14Q filings) to ensure a sound control environment and compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements. You will also be involved in planning and testing end-to-end automation solutions and new reporting capabilities in partnership with technology teams. These solutions aim to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of external reporting while promoting finance transformation through process automation. You will participate in strategic initiative projects and communicate effectively with Senior leadership, utilizing available resources to develop technical knowledge of tools including Alteryx, Tableau, and SQL.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the production, review, and filing of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual finance-related reports to various regulators, including the SEC, FED, OCC, and FDIC.
  • Adhere to control procedures to ensure accurate reconciliation between regulatory filings, SEC filings, and other published financial reports (e.g., Form 10-Q, Annual Reports/Form 10-K, Call Reports, and FR Y-9C).
  • Perform schedule and report reviews, variance and trend analysis, data accuracy validation at the source level, and ensure conformity with regulator instructions.
  • Interpret and understand regulatory rules to ensure compliance.
  • Establish and manage relationships with line of business and corporate partners.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on data quality review and external reporting enhancement projects.
  • Research issues and problems, providing solution-based approaches.
  • Mentor and support the development of associates and analysts within the team.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 10+ years of work experience with CA, CPA, ACCA, MBA Finance with background in the banking industry
  • Control efficiency mindset and drive to challenge and change
  • Ability to research issues/problems and provide a solution-based approach
  • Intermediate to advanced level ability expected in MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Pivot Tables, Nesting formulas)
  • Demonstrable ability to drive strategic initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues to management in clear and concise way
  • Capable of exercising leadership; willing to make challenging decisions

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

Experience working on US Regulatory and/or SEC reporting would be added advantage
