  • Top-level consulting: Supporting board members, divisional managers and decision-makers (all genders) of leading rail companies in the further development and transformation of their core operational areas - especially in operations, maintenance and technology
  • Transformation of operational business models: design of new, high-performance operating and maintenance structures - digital, efficient and customer-centric - e.g. new control models, workshop strategies, platform solutions or asset-as-a-service concepts
  • Customer centricity & service excellence: consistent alignment of operational performance with customer benefits - for example through the development of new product logics, improved journey time reliability or multimodal services
  • Holistic performance improvement: identifying potential in the organization, processes, assets and IT systems and implementing specific, measurable improvements together with the client
  • Project responsibility & leadership: responsibility for sub-projects, presentation at board level and active contribution of your own ideas for our further development

 

Future Rail - OEM:

  • Advising the top management of leading rail OEMs and suppliers on strategy development and implementation, e.g. in the area of modularization and digitalization
  • Implementation of transformation and efficiency programs along the value chain
  • Optimization of products, processes and structures, e.g. in the reduction of manufacturing costs for a new generation of vehicles
  • Responsibility for sub-projects including the presentation of results
  • Implementation of own ideas, e.g. for the further development of our service portfolio

 

Rail - Infrastructure:

  • Advising our clients' top management, e.g. in the development and implementation of an infrastructure company's Strategy 2030
  • Implementation of (digital) transformation, efficiency, optimization and sustainability projects in infrastructure
  • Developing new digital business areas to expand intermodal services, e.g. through corporate venturing
  • Advice on the implementation of smart infrastructure projects, e.g. through the introduction of Building Information Management (BIM)
  • Implementing our own ideas, e.g. for the further development of our service portfolio

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in industrial engineering, business administration or a comparable course of study
  • 7+ years of total relevant professional experience, preferably in rail or maritime industry
  • Exposure to large infrastructure project management or leadership for terminals stations, etc.
  • Experience in a management consultancy with a focus on transportation, mobility or infrastructure or alternatively in a strategic role within the rail industry
  • Experience in the implementation of challenging projects - always with a clear focus on impact, efficiency and innovation
  • Collaboration in a team and with clients at eye level with a confident demeanor, empathy and creative drive
  • Strategic thinking, analytical acuity and entrepreneurial drive
  • Progressive experience in project management roles and proven track record delivering projects
  • Experience with development and implementation of strategic initiatives or transformation programs
  • High level of business acumen and consultative expertise
  • Comfort in working in environments with a high degree of ambiguity and having the ability to define and independently drive towards clear objectives
  • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel up to 80%
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to structure large amounts of data into a clear narrative while driving appropriate focus on key elements and leading towards a defined outcome or recommendation
  • Proficient computer skills with MS Office applications
