Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the design and governance of our enterprise data platforms. The ideal candidate is an expert in data modelling (star, snowflake, data vault), open data formats, and scalable architectures using cloud-native tools. You will collaborate across business and technology teams to ensure robust, compliant, and high-performing data ecosisyem.

Must Have Skills:

• 5+ years of experience required on data architecture (order matters):
  • Hands-on experience in defining and implementing data mesh principles across multiples domains
  • Proven expertise in dimensional modeling (Star and Snowflake schema).
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Data Vault 2.0 modeling.
  • Experience designing enterprise data architecture using modern lakehouse, dalalake and warehouse patterns.
  • Proficient in designing logica, physical, and canonical data models aligned with business domains.
  • Experience working with metadata management and catalogs.
  • Strong knowledge of master data management MDM, data lineage and data governance best practices.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and secure data architecture design.

• Technical Proficiency in:
  • Python expert.
  • Open Format Table expert (Delta lake or Iceberg or Hudi).
  • Azure / GCP cloud professional data architect certification.
  • GCP Dataplex expert.
  • Databricks Unity Catalog expert.
  • Spark y/o Flink expert.

Nice To Have Skills:

• Scotiabank experience (Digital Factory).
• Agile/Scrum - FI/Banking experience (Scotiabank preferred*) .
