The Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in expanding Mortgage Forward’s presence within the mortgage market by cultivating relationships, generating new business opportunities, and strengthening our brand reputation in the community.
This individual serves as both a strategic connector and a trusted advisor, leveraging their industry knowledge and interpersonal skills to grow the company’s referral network and client base. The ideal candidate thrives in a boutique environment where initiative, authenticity, and collaboration drive success.

To identify, develop, and maintain profitable business relationships that align with company growth goals and reflect Mortgage Forward’s values of trust, transparency, and personalized service.
As a Business Development Manager, your primary responsibilities will be:
Business Growth and Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the mortgage and real estate ecosystem.
- Develop and implement market strategies to expand the company’s reach and client portfolio.
- Generate qualified leads through networking, referral partnerships, and targeted outreach efforts.
Relationship Management
- Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with Credit Unions, Community Banks, Independent Mortgage Firms, and Brokers.
- Support and collaborate with loan officers to strengthen referral partnerships and improve conversion rates.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for key partners, providing consistent communication and follow-up.
Strategic Collaboration
- Partner with marketing and leadership teams to refine campaigns and communication strategies that support business development goals.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions to identify growth opportunities and market trends.
- Share field insights and competitive intelligence to support data-driven decision-making.
Brand Representation and Community Engagement
- Represent Mortgage Forward at industry events, real estate expos, and community gatherings.
- Promote brand awareness and establish credibility through public relations and local involvement.
- Uphold the company’s reputation for personalized service and ethical business practices.
Reporting and Performance
- Track and report on key business development metrics, including lead conversion, partnership performance, and market activity.
- Provide regular updates and performance summaries to leadership.
- Contribute to quarterly and annual business growth goals.
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations, and following all of Mortgage Forward’s policies, procedures and internal controls.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements needed to be part of this team:
- A bachelor’s degree or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of five years of similar or related experience
- Knowledge and Use of Encompass Software: Familiarity with Encompass software is preferred.
