WinnCompanies is seeking a motivated Construction Coordinator to join our NJ / NYC Regional team based out of Paterson, NJ.

In this role, you will serve as WinnCompanies’ independent owner’s on-site representative during construction and rehabilitation projects. The ideal candidate will also ensure that work is executed in accordance with contract documents, regulatory requirements and WinnCompanies’ expectations for excellence across multiple properties if needed.

The salary range for this role is $94,200-$115,000 dependent on experience.


WinnCompanies is seeking a motivated Construction Coordinator to join our NJ / NYC Regional team based out of Paterson, NJ. In this role, you will serve as WinnCompanies’ independent owner’s on-site representative during construction and rehabilitation projects. The ideal candidate will also ensure that work is executed in accordance with contract documents, regulatory requirements and WinnCompanies’ expectations for excellence across multiple properties if needed.The salary range for this role is $94,200-$115,000 dependent on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Act as WinnCompanies’ liaison between construction teams, design professionals, and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain impartiality and avoid assuming roles of superintendent, safety officer, or contractor.
  • Monitor construction progress and quality to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Accompany inspectors from local, state, or federal agencies.
  • Maintain organized site records: correspondence, permits, inspection reports, test results, change orders, meeting minutes, and shop drawings.
  • Log daily activities.
  • Attend and report on all project meetings as WinnCompanies’ representative.
  • Review contractor payment requests and provide recommendations.
  • Review and compare as-built drawings with field documentation.
  • Oversee installation of owner-furnished equipment, furniture, and specialty materials.
  • Support punch list development and monitor completion.
  • Participate in final inspections and commissioning.
  • Receive and transfer technical manuals, keys, spare parts, and other closeout materials to operations staff.
  • Coordinate training for WinnCompanies’ staff on equipment and systems.
  • Ensure site safety and coordinate with security personnel.
  • Respond to resident concerns and coordinate communication with property management.
  • Ensure property protection during severe weather events.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, substandard work, or potential delays.


  • Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, construction technology, Building Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in building construction, preferably in roles such as Clerk of the Works or Project Manager.
  • A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, scheduling, and compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  • Ability to remain impartial and focused on owner interests.
  • Physical ability to navigate active construction sites and perform field inspections.
  • Willingness to travel across New Jersey and surrounding areas as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Programs including Projects.
  • Experience using construction management software such as Procore, Smartsheet and Fieldwire.


  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English), other languages also a plus.
  • Experience with sustainable building practices (LEED, Passive House, Net Zero).
  • Familiarity with affordable housing or mixed-use development environments.
  • Knowledge of permitting workflows and regulatory compliance in the tri-state area.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam Revu.
